Whatever the reason, [Noora] Raj Brown started taking some steps toward soothing her spirit (and perhaps others’) before bed. In her West Village apartment, Raj Brown fashioned a new routine: “Every night, I’ve been filling up my tub with hot water, dumping in a full cup of our new (I got a few advance samples) G.Nite bath soak, then lighting a goop shiso candle—it has frankincense in it, which is supposed to be calming. I pour myself a Som (I love the taste), put it next to the tub and I sip and soak for at least 20 minutes.”
The results have been unequivocal: No waking up at 3 a.m. “I can’t believe it, but I’m sleeping through the night,” she says. “The combination really works for me.”
