Celeb moms are drinking it, too.
Insomniacs will try anything to get some sleep — hence the many lotions, teas, and vitamins promising a full night's rest. The newest contender to enter the ring: Som Sleep, a melatonin-based drink that reviewers say puts you to sleep in 30 minutes or less.
The berry-flavored drink is non-carbonated, and uses L-theanine (an amino acid commonly found in tea) and GABA supplements to help you fall asleep. Amazon customers are all in on its benefits: "Tastes surprisingly good and knocked me out pretty fast," one buyer wrote.
"I drank it approximately 30 minutes before my bedtime and like clockwork, I fell asleep with such ease," another wrote. "After about 10 minutes of drinking the drink, I felt relaxed and not as jittery and anxious as I usually am."
Som Sleep comes in regular and zero sugar versions; the regular uses cane sugar while the lower-cal one uses stevia. The original formula contains 40 calories, 8 grams of sugar, and 15 grams of carbohydrates per can.
Actresses and moms Jenna Dewan and Hilary Duff have posted about the drink on social media, both tagging actress Joanna Garcia Swisher and her husband Nick Swisher, who is on Som Sleep's advisory board. The "sleep in a blue can" drinks (which have not been approved by the FDA, to note), are available on Amazon in four packs and 24 packs.
